Privacy Policy

[PLACEHOLDER] Draft for lawyer review before launch. Last updated [DATE].

Who we are

Compound is operated by Paper Lake (Sydney, Australia). We recruit and place full-time staff for Australian businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

For clients: name, business name, email, phone and the role details you send us. For candidates: CV, work history, test results, identity and police-check status. We collect only what we need to run a search and a placement.

How we use it

To respond to enquiries, run searches, arrange interviews, deliver placements and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for anything you would not expect from a recruiter.

Who we share it with

Candidates you shortlist see the role brief. Clients see candidate cards for the roles they are hiring. We use trusted providers (email, hosting, payments) bound by their own privacy terms. We disclose information if the law requires it.

Storage and security

Data is held on reputable cloud services with access controls and 2FA. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose collected or as the law requires, then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct your information, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hey@paperlake.com.au. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with our response.
